I love how eclectic all the posts are!

Day 33 Liz

Inspired by Chapel Hill. A small mission style chapel was built by someone who felt guilty about his success and thought this could get him more points in the afterlife. It's on top of a steep hill just outside of Paso Robles. The curvy road thing is a reoccurring element I've been drawing castles on top of since I was really young.

Day 32 Liz

Office Shapes. It looks cluttered; I wonder if the composition would be better if there was more white space and the size of the shapes contrasted more?
And I'll freely admit that my photography skills are going down the drain.

Day 31 Liz

This is what it looks like when you are commuting in the wee hours of the morning and your arms feel like dead logs and the steering wheel feels really really far away.

Day 30 Liz

So I would feel silly doing a study for an abstract work if I hadn't seen the Gorky Exhibit at the LA MOCA. He had a whole series of drawings and pre paintings for a lot of his pieces. Unfortunately for me, I'm not sure if this helped me any. While working on this I got tired and hungry half way through and gave up. We'll see how the painting turns out! I've already pre-named it 'Italy'.

Working on this. I call this one 'Greece'. Rima, I love that you are working with gold too! I don't care what anyone says, I LOVE gold leaf, especially the way it interacts with light, like this one in the sun.

Day 30 Rima

Still working on this. Finished?

Day 23 Liz

Jury Duty: Day one. I like drawing the lawyers. Lawyers scare me. However the woman lawyer had the most beautiful (Chinese maybe?) face and the front was really flat and I realized I've never done a profile like hers and obviously had some difficulty. Wish I had more time with it!

Day 22 Rima

I didn't realise the color similarities between this piece and my last piece until I saw this photo. The big piece is something I'm working on.

Day 22 Liz

Really not feeling it this morning. This is a lazy piece of work.

Day 20 Rima

My husband cut up some asparagus and I had to draw it (quickly!)

Day 20

I drew my kitty this morning. I was inspired by your scribble/color piece. Eyes are hard!!

Discussion

Hey Rima,
What is the possibility of any of your sketches being used for paintings?

Day 17 Rima

Based on the Arnolfini Marriage by Jan Van Eyck (15th century) where dogs were included in painted portraits as sign of fidelity.
